100 word architectural adaptation of the theme of fence
The Crossing
The main themes of freedom and release extracted from Assignment 1 can be thought of architecturally as the changes in spatial quality experienced as one moves from one space across a threshold into another. These changes occur at the junction of an interior space and an exterior space most often represented as a door, window or other opening. The change in lighting conditions, physical changes like ceiling height, column rhythm, or passage widths may produce variations in pace or movement patterns of an observer. The feeling of freedom experienced when crossing a fence or threshold is the basis of this assignment.
